Red-blooded

Bursting at the seams with color

Not scandalous but fully scarlet

Rich smooth and enjoyable

As a vintage glass of merlot

By Roberta Sorge on Unsplash

Personality shining through

Glistening like expensive rubies

A rare combination of sweet and tart as a cherry

At times off kilter like the pink-red of cerise

By Mateus Campos Felipe on Unsplash

My spirit soars high and free

As a cardinal or scarlet ibis in the sky

Look up and you might just see me

Waving as I'm passing by

Color me every shade of red

Bright vibrant claret and carmine

Scorching like a flaming coral reef

As tasty on the tongue as fine wine

By Alexander Mils on Unsplash

Still gentle and soft as a rose

With hints of vermeil and sanguine

A hint of the ticture gules

Rufescent rufous crimson refined

Seductive as a pomegranate

Color me red-blooded and bold

Continual progress in the making

A true wonder to behold
