Our Own Applause
Photo by Lance Grandahl on Unsplash

We wander lost, confused by the journey

What if’s and maybe have us feeling vexed

It’s hard to imagine finding amazing

Sedated daily with what’s coming next

Passing through a world of mazes

Making the simple things feel complex

Minimal success with astounding praises

We lose ourselves and appear perplexed

To find the joy that a moment possesses

To feel the hunger and reward ourselves

We must find the fine line of wisdom and losses

Our very breath exhaled revealing applause

So, what of today will improve our tomorrow’s

Future and present exposed to the past

Blending with care our joy and our sorrows

Where whoever we are is enough, at last
