Read This in the Spring

Growing Up

READ THIS IN THE SPRING

Son, read this letter in the Spring

I want you to hear me with the birds

And think of me in the sun.

I know it is odd that I ask you choose the Spring

Because our winters lack winter, there at home.

What makes winter winter, really does not exist there at home.

But the Spring really does make itself noticeable!

The sun’s shift is small but curing,

And like that, we do not feel childhood, there at home.

But oh, how warm the feeling of adulthood

How liberating is the feeling of seven days of autonomy! Over and over!

It is like you have hit Spring.

But son, in Spring, blankets do not do the same.

Coffee and baked ones and movies

Do not do the same.

How liberating is the feeling of seven days of autonomy? Over and over?

It is like you have lost the winter.
