I reached for you,

You reached for me.

It wasn't really planned,

But when we touched,

The magic sparked.

I felt my heart expand.

**

I reached. You reached.

We touched again,

I knew it then and there.

That this was

The beginning

Of the answer to my prayer.

**

We never felt

The need to reach

For anybody new.

Because if either

Had a need,

The other would come through.

**

I reached for you,

You reached for me,

We walked life hand in hand.

And looking back,

Our lifelong love,

Felt like a promised land.

**

I reached for you,

but now you're gone.

My heart's an aching mess.

The grief, I fear,

Will only grow.

I'm feeling in distress.

**

I reached again,

but you're still gone.

Your absence left a hole.

Some sweet, fine day,

We'll reach again,

Where I can touch your soul.
