"She approves. We have earned favor in her sight. When we sit down and work, we become like a magnetized rod that attracts iron filings. Ideas come. Insights accrete." Steven Pressfield

Does

poetry

rattle until

it wakes you up?

Sends you words

and worlds,

when it knows

you can’t write

things down.

Says to you it’s

time to:

get up and face

everything–Well,

what may feel

like everything.

Says,

that you feel

everything;

catching even

the feelings

not meant for you.

The ones

that pollinate

the air.

Making a romance

out of a meet

cute in...everywhere.

Making a drama

out of

a parking lot.

Making a comedy

of the

9 to 5.

Seeking to be

rediscovered, retold,

rethought.

....

Does the

poetry

rattle until

it wakes you up?

She seeks everything

you've ever thought of,

every meager feeling

you have had

since your body

stopped catching up

with your mind,

because your mind

was running circles

and your body was

tired. She already

knows what she has

to work with, she's just workin'

out the order. Making

a commotion out

of your brain, and

a tornado jelly spine

of every feeling

you've ever had.

Leaving you

wondering, did

I want this, or did

she? Did I write this,

or did she?

Does

poetry

rattle until

she wakes

you up?
