Rain Writing Your Name
A Ghazal of Midnight Streets And Lingering Echoes

This ghazal unfolds in a rain-drenched city night where memory becomes inseparable from the atmosphere itself. The beloved no longer appears directly, but through reflections, rain, and fragments of light. It is a poem about emotional afterimages—the way love continues to exist in the textures of ordinary moments.
Within the crowded silence of the rain-soaked street at night,
Your name passed through the darkness like a thread of light.
Rain began to fall, and every window seemed to cry,
Your laughter disappeared beneath the midnight sky.
I remain beside a fading lamp, cold without your flame,
Burning through the restless night, whispering your name.
Each raindrop on the glass redraws your face once more,
As though your breath still lingers near the night’s dark shore.
