Queen of the Road

Holding Court

Cars whooshing by

Gas fumes fill the air

I move without a care

Under the blue blue sky

🛣️

Going from town to town

Making my way alone

I have much I need to atone

I won’t be brought down

🛣️

Most say I’m seeking

No one knows the truth

I can’t stand still, in sooth

Little need for a would-be king

🛣️

My boots were made for walking

Created for one foot in front of the other

Never needing to walk with another

I was never one for talking

👢

I left my worries behind

I carry sunshine in my pocket

My lover’s picture in my locket

In my boot is the steel blade you’ll find

🌞

I travel these byways

Both by day and night

I’m not one to take fright

I’m pretty set in my ways

🛣️

Bypassing the cities

Leaving the interstates

Preferring smaller states

Always singing ditties

🛣️

Don’t bother stopping

I don’t want a ride

In the weather, I’ll bide

I enjoy it even when it's sopping

🛣️

I’m the Queen

Atoning my ways

Walking these roadways

My courtroom is an ever-changing scene
