Pushed Aside As Old Things Usually Are

Poem and Feelings

Pushed aside as old things usually are...

How do your words have any more value than mine?

My words were tried and tested

Respected and valued

You care in here

With your self righteousness

And your jokes

Your confidence in your own power

And you took my words away

And everyone saw

And not one of them

Spoke against you

Because you were better than me

I guess that was it

You were somehow better than me

More valued,more loved

And I - who had been dependable and passionate for years

Was swept to the sidelines

I became the victim

I tried and tried to become of value to you

So that others might see my value too

But in the end all that I could do

Was walk away and start somewhere new
