Puddle Pirates
Tiny toes in rubber boots,
Stomping puddles, chasing hoots.
Suns like coins, they toss and gleam,
Sparkling pirates, in a watery dream.
-
Sticks for swords, they raise them high,
Sailing seas of stormy sky.
Paper boats, with crayon sails,
Conquering waves on raindrop trails.
-
Soaked and giggling, cheeks like mud,
Shrieks of joy, misunderstood.
Puddles shrink, the sunbeams fade,
But pirate hearts will never be afraid.
-
For in their eyes, the ocean roars,
And puddles whisper tales of shores.
So let them splash, let dreams take flight,
These little pirates, in the morning light.
