Psychoneurosis

Take me on a journey away from Dear Vincent

with his soft hair and starry nights.

I hate them.

Darkness makes it impossible to see

the beautiful lines on your cheeks.

Reds and Blacks cascade down such a soft surface.

Don't be coy, you know you're gorgeous.

Well...not that gorgeous.

Sound had never existed until you started squealing.

STOP.

"It ain't over 'til it's over," she says.

You twirl about like a crack in the frame...

a chip in the painting.

Sing to me my guttural lullaby darling,

and take me to the land of silent white.

It falls from above and fogs out

the purple embracing you.

I see your eyes dart about.

I see them stop on me.

I see your eyes widen as each word rolls off my lips.

Trace their outline with your finger,

but give them back before you crush them against yours.

They can't help their fragility,

and you can't help your being an abomination.

Get in your big black boat and go,

but leave the light on.

I'm afraid of the dark.

I hate it.
