“Writing is like mining for gold hidden in the hillsides of your mind.” ~ David Baboulene

You have not hit rock bottom,

some geologists might argue

until you’ve cut beyond the vein

to where the mineralization ends.

How quickly you learn to think

outside of all sorts of structures,

as your chances of break-even

resemble your recent run in love.

That is unless you touch a body,

the ore body, her high-grade body

with the tip of your diamond drill

as if somehow saying, ‘I like you

enough to assume the consequences!’

The proof is in just how sexual

mining and geological expressions are:

Bed, tip, cavity, butt entry, bedding.
