Project Me

The most unfinished work-in-progress: myself

Held in darkness,

Clenching yourself,

The pain won’t leave,

An aching throb,

As life beats red.

- - -

From scrunched eyes,

You dread time,

As scars grow,

Knowing pain

Heals orange.

- - -

Embracing growth,

You feel lighter,

Release anger,

As sunlight pours

Yellow in you.

- - -

To breathe in,

And exhale,

You see it,

Inside green;

Your nature.

- - -

Washed away sin

In blue waters,

On warmer shores,

Finding yourself;

Serenity.

- - -

Embracing

The true you,

Will always

Bleed purple

In spirit.

- - -

Out of darkness,

Risen from pain,

Wrapped in rainbow,

Finally free

To say out loud

Your secret shame,

- - -

“I am gay,”

After all,

I am me.
