i found my

Prince Charming

but he said

he did not

want his crown

because it was

too heavy.

but the shoe fit.

i held him

every night

in the stillness

praying the darkness

would never end

because in the morning

i would need to kiss

his forehead

and say goodbye

because he wanted

to go.

his beautiful face

stares at me

in the river

in the fields

and the flowers

that wither

while i wait for

the sound of his footsteps.

in my fortress

of longing

i have found

magic

in the memory

of someone

who made my heart

sing.
