Predator

eternal dance

By Julianne TaitPublished 11 months ago • 1 min read

Lost in lust, the smell of whiskey lingered on his breath,

He scanned the room for a place for his gaze to rest,

Someone he couldn’t resist, easy prey

Praying she didn’t feel his eyes linger on her

Her own heart beating, the only sound she perceived

His greed, need to devour dripped off every word

Blurred lines between them, he’s in it for the kill

Her will, slurred with the last swig of brandy

He chose the right mark, or so it seems,

Funnily she always gets who she wants.
