Oh, pounding heart of mine, don't thump out of my chest.

Why can't you just behave yourself, hidden within my breast?

Heart, if you keep pounding, you're sure to give me away.

Calm down and relax. I'll pour you out another day.

Oh, pounding heart of mine, I can see him too,

But I don't show excitement as quickly as you do.

Heart, don't be so obvious. Calm your beating down.

You can't start getting rowdy every time he comes around.

Oh, pounding heart of mine, what happened to "hard to get"?

Every time that we lock eyes, you begin to fret.

Oh, heart, what is the use? Go on and pound away.

Besides, I think I heard his heart pounding too today.
