Today,
I want to smell like me, simply me
Tomorrow,
I might want to smell like coffee and still be me
Today,
I want to stay in water as long as I please
Tomorrow,
I might not want to leave my bed, and it will be just as great
Today,
I want to write this poem
Tomorrow,
I might just paint. But I want to know, it is still me, it is still me
Today,
I want to dance without a rhythm
Tomorrow,
I might want to mark the pace, and I want to believe, it is still me, truly me
Today,
I want to drink water and tea
Tomorrow,
I might find I want turmeric, water, tea...
My candle flickers and I'm still here, and I am me
Am I?
Today,
Wholly me?
Tomorrow,
I'm the one who cares
Today and tomorrow.
About the Creator
Helena Vasquez
I use written word as a cathartic tool in my life to disempower emotions and get clarity; hoping people can feel relieve and a sense of an AHA! in relation to their very own lives after they read my words.
Enjoy reading!
