Porn is not love

It's not even lust

Porn can ruin your life

Porn can only give you pain

Porn can only give you hurt

Love can give you pain

Sure

Love can give you hurt

Sure

But

Only

Love

Love no porn

Love can save your life

Love can give you joy

To feel the love

You don't need

Its vile and fake mark

You don't need

Its reek, its dirt

The vilee mark of porn

Don't let it suck you in

Don't give ear to its lies

Don't let it have its win

Don't give ear to its lies

Even if you have to wait

For love to make its mark

Don't give in to porn

Porn will give you pain

Porn will make you hate

You, one and all

Love will give you joy

Thanks for reading!

This is maybe not so sweet and is for the Short and Sweet Challenge. It still makes a valid point, and for anyone who may have read between the lines of other posts about addiction, it is something close to my heart.

I read this like a confession and a plea. Its repetition is like desperation. Simple but raw, Paul. Raw.

I agree 💯 I honestly despise the entire toxic industry.. To each their own but I don't want anything to do with it at all. Beautiful piece.

  • But porn doesn't cheat on you. Porn doesn't leave you. Porn doesn't fall out of love. Porn doesn't find another. I'm not pro porn but I'm anti love 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • Thavien Yliaster11 months ago

Yeah, porn can lead to a lot of self-loathing. That's for certain. I don't know if I can say that porn has destroyed lives or if people allow it to destroy their lives. Junk food, smoking, gambling, porn, cell phone scrolling, all have addictive qualities. Sometimes the toughest battles are our desire for that chemical feel-good factor that neurochemically marinates our brains, especially the longer we indulge. Knowing is half the battle, fighting for more healthy outlets is the other half.

    Totally agree!!! ❤️❤️💕

  • Preach it, brother!

This hits close to home for me, and I love it. Dean did a poem about porn addiction a while back, and I thought it was the most brave thing I ever saw posted on Vocal. Of course yours is different, because you have your own unique voice. Only editing note I will make is that cruel is 5 letters and appears twice.

    Agreed. Less porn more love

Hi Paul - It all Depends on 'HOW' you 'Look' at it - and, of course, the Mood you're in at the time; just sayin' - Fun - J-Bud

It may not be sweet, but it's true and a powerful message that obviously comes from the heart. Well done, Paul!
