Po-Tay-Toes
A Regal Tuber
*A quick note for those who may not know 'tatties' or 'tatty' is the Scots word for potatoes/a potato
Let me tell you, new friend,
about the humble tattie.
Though it doesn't look like much,
one bite will make you happy.
In every human city,
people young and old,
have forgone the fine and pretty,
for a tuber worth its weight in gold.
Though born in the Andes,
this humble little root,
has fed paupers, fools, and dandies,
as they crossed the world on foot.
As you walk the earth, looking on in awe and wonder,
I hope you'll never overlook the treasures held down under.
