Pleasure and Pain

A symphony of joy and tears

Pain and pleasure, intertwined in dance,

Two forces that shape our mortal chance,

One, a joy that lifts us to the skies,

The other, a challenge that makes us wise.

Pleasure, a spark that sets the heart ablaze,

A feeling that sets our souls ablaze,

A moment of bliss that lingers long,

A feeling that we can't help but prolong.

But pain, the teacher we all must face,

A reminder that life's not just a race,

It challenges us to grow and learn,

To overcome, to adapt, to discern.

Together, they create life's symphony,

The highs and lows of humanity,

A reflection of life's many fears,

A reminder of its many tears.

For pain and pleasure are two sides,

Of a coin that fate, in turn, decides,

One lifts us up, the other brings us down,

Together, they form life's profound.

So embrace the pain, and revel in pleasure,

For both are gifts that we must treasure,

For they make us human, they make us whole,

And lead us to the deepest parts of our soul.
