We started so happy

Our love was right,

I don’t know what’s happened

Or why we fight.

***

I have been so happy

And had so much hope,

But the tables have turned

I’m finding it hard to cope.

***

You never talk to me

Especially when you should,

Is it really so hard to tell me

I really wish you would.

***

I look like a fool

To the people around,

As they think I know

But I know nothing I’ve found.

***

Not only that

But the lies have started,

Please don’t do this to us

It’ll break my heart if we parted.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
