I didn’t lose myself all at once. I gave myself away piece by piece. Until I met someone who set up a workshop in the last corner of my heart. And there, he labored constantly in the dangerous dark. Firmly set on his quest to create each individual piece I had lost, so that he could put them right and make me whole again. I stopped him as he was about to complete the puzzle and whispered, “That one you must keep for yourself. So that whatever may happen and wherever you may go, you carry a piece of me always. And so that I will have a place in my heart for you forever.”
