Picasso Drink to Me
To have known Picasso
working in his studio
in the sparse surroundings
of Malaga, Venice, Paris...
A perfect sky
the water a pristine blue
just impossible to
believe he's not still
alive to see it...
With a prodigious talent
Picasso’s world was seen
as the personification of genius
he believed in washing
the dust of daily life
off our souls...
Picasso accepted taste to be
the enemy of creativeness
taught the world
that to be young
takes a long time...
He succeeded
but he didn’t believe
in accidents
only encounters in history...
His work in life
was the ultimate seduction
this was our world
like summer clouds
remembered in a dream...
Picasso developed a distinct voice
his art was painted
to relate the vision of his poetry…
Restlessness in his life represented
a stream of consciousness,
associating words and images
concluding his obsession with sex...
After a glamorous life
and through his blue period
where he formed
many relationships and struggles
last words in his life were
“Drink to me. Drink to my health.
Because you know I can’t drink anymore.”
