Petals In The Snow

Withstanding The Winter

Petals In The Snow
Photo by Johannes Plenio on Unsplash

petals unfurl, penetrating the ground

emerging through once stifled soil

piercing the frozen grip of winters crown

waking beauty displayed to be found

the wonders that daily surround us

with no effort to be what they are

bend and sway to earths unspoken impulse

like the sun and the moon and the stars

as do we, as we age through existence

change to fit in its final design

living life working through consequences

learn and grow, till we've run out of time

then like petals we push through the surface

rise to shine like the stars in the sky

we are designed with a will and a purpose

and at the end of our days, we will fly
