Perpetual Victimhood

The wasteland of narcissism

Some are ever the victim in their stories

Making others out to be villains

Even when they are not and never have been villains.

But for a victim to shine, there must be an abuser

Even if only a manufactured one created for their story.

******

More is the pity for the perpetual victim

They are either incapable or unwilling to see

That the villain of their story is nothing more

Than their own selves

Fabricating webs of deceit

With the biggest deception of all being the one

they tell themselves and wholeheartedly believe.

******

No, it is not gaslighting to call out

the narcissist that makes life all about themselves

And trashes every other being around them.

It is not a delight to push back at such

sordid souls and yet, if one does not

The perpetual victim will plow their fields of sorrow

With your reputation, your integrity, and your sanity

******

So, the true victim is never the perpetual victim,

It is actually the villains of their stories

that are victimized by the saga generated

by the person who perpetuates their victimhood

at the expense of all around them

******

Until they all fall away and none is left

except for the perpetual victim

that then slinks away to embed itself

into a new clique to start the process

all over again villainizing everyone around them

so that they can feel safe in their blanket

of perpetual victimhood

living forever in the wasteland of their narcissism.
