Perceived Heroes

Strange River in the Air

Winds throughout time traveled past arid places

and over ancient graves of heroes

who no one had ever known.

Perceived heroes, in the minds of the "least of these,"

whipping violent leaves, peacefully sweeping up dust,

and nearly forgotten memories rose on the wings of Dawn.

The poor in spirit, now feasting on wonderous wealth;

the imprisoned, now running races on golden streets;

the thirsty ones, now filled with fountains of exuberance;

the once sick and bedridden ones, now danced in His splendid glory.

Diverse celebration and melding harmonies rose and shook,

the Father was pleased as He began to view the book.
