Peace and the Dove
A white dove drifted across the sky,
Soft wings carried where dreams still fly,
No sound of anger, no bitter call,
Only calm spreading over all.
It settled gently upon a wall,
Watching shadows rise and fall,
Its eyes held stories old and wise,
Reflections of forgotten skies.
Peace is not silence standing still,
It takes a strong and patient will,
To mend the cracks that hurt has made,
And walk through darkness unafraid.
The dove remained through wind and rain,
Through human sorrow, loss, and pain,
A quiet symbol through the years,
Bringing comfort through our tears.
Some seek power, some seek gold,
Some chase promises never told,
Yet peace is found in simple things,
Like the gentle beat of wings.
A hand once clenched can learn to rest,
A troubled heart can do its best,
To leave behind the weight of blame,
And never play that endless game.
The dove rose high above the land,
Beyond the reach of harsh command,
Its message carried far and wide,
Across each mountain, sea, and tide.
Though storms may gather overhead,
And fear may fill the road ahead,
The dove reminds us every day,
That peace can always find a way.
