I'm walking a different road now
but allow me to pause
and reflect
on my past academic journey
where the classroom
was my garden.
Seeds of biological importance
such as population density,
and plant adaptation,
for example,
were sown.
I've seen plants
now blooming
like cedars of Lebanon
and many more,
adaptating to structural changes
and making a difference
at their workplaces.
The joy of being a teacher
is the satisfaction you get
when you see your ex-students
and know
that the journey you took
two decades ago
was not a waste.
Sometimes we go on journeys
through dense forest,
cross rivers or climb mountains
and we wonder why
these doors opened
while others closed
and we took the chances.
Only time will tell.
If we have patience
and let the dusts
of wonder settle,
it'll make sense.
