Patience

©Jessica Snow; 2017

We all want things to happen now, now, now,

But we never take into consideration

That nothing is ever instant.

An artist must take 2 milliseconds to coat his brush

And another few to stroke lines over his canvas.

One cannot snap their fingers

And make miracles happen, but oh,

If I could

I would not have to wait so patiently.

You would be in my arms right now

Right here.

Your eyes before mine, gazing lustrously

Like the jewels that they are.

Come to me faster, sprout wings and fly

And race against space and time

And nature to find me.

Beat all the odds and bend the law

Of time. I'm waiting impatiently.
