Pastoral

Listening To Grantchester Meadows by Pink Floyd turned my thoughts to the time I spend with a very close friend

In Grantchester Meadows

I’ve just been listening to “Ummagumma” by Pink Floyd and I particularly love the pastoral relaxing feel of “Grantchester Meadows” by Roger Waters and thought that would be something that I would like to write for a close special friend of mine. I could also choose Beethoven's "Pastoral" Symphony but it was the Roger Waters song that inspired this.

Lying in this meadow, holding hands with you

By the slowly flowing river, quiet and calm

Birds sing and rabbits run, a pastoral psalm

I love us being here under the sky so blue

Every moment with you is a treasure

Seconds stretch to forever, under the tree’s shade

Holding hands feeling love that will never fade

My time spent with you is always a pleasure

This meadow is heaven for us, So perfect

Time together is precious as we connect

Holding each other more closely, heart to heart

Birdsong fills the air, we’ll never be apart

Spending time here with our friendship, care and trust

We want this to be our always, our true love
