I loved you
But you loved that part of me
that had toes curling
legs shaking and —
I was only ever good for the sex
My body
Holy temple I allowed you to defile
with your 8 inches of strength
I can’t help
but to bite my bottom lip
at the thought of last night
I.. have.. trouble
Catching my breath
Which continues to escape me
When I find the words of
We can’t do this anymore—
I’m longing for something more
than a good night
I’m looking for a good morning
For several good mornings
For a man that sees me for all that I am
And for all that I will be
For us to share in good conversation
I need him to be more than someone I crave in my loneliness
I need him to kiss on my imperfections
To be tender
if in my nakedness
I expose old wounds
I need him to be… loving
So I can give him a better love and a deeper peace than he’s ever known
And yes
My sounds of pleasure and pain will still echo and quake the earth
My satisfaction scratched into his back
as I held on as tight as I could
Enjoying the thought
that this love will last forever
I need the man, I know is better than you
