Poetry about sad love

When I met you, I knew you’d be mine

From that moment on, we became close

We stayed together through it all

Until that one day

You left without a word

Not even a goodbye

I was heartbroken at first

Living through my life was agony

Waking up every morning is like torture

Each day is like a dagger to my heart

That twists and deepens more

At the mere mention of your name

From someone’s lips

But I continued to live on

Because I loved you still

And I held onto the hope that you’d come back

But when I saw you with someone else

My heart broke in pieces

Because we’re like parallels

Living in the same universe

But neither of us are close now

And I desperately hoped we could be together again

But none of that would happen in this life

Or the next, if maybe, after that.
