Parallel Lines

“Parallel lines

Color them in between

Maybe this wouldn’t seem

So blindly led

These lines they lead

Through the masses

And only meet

When they break

So tell me how

A line could only be parallel

When it seems everything

Is so prone to breaking

Better to be perpendicular

Or parallel

It’s like contemplating

The depths of heaven or hell

And neither seems too bad

Once you realize

They only exist

In drawings and texts

If parallels could speak

It would sound rather faint

The cry of a lover

Whom never met his mate

If we were perpendicular

It might scare the rest

While parallels never meet

We’d crash right through them

I’m sure you knew me

In a different life

Oh how we run such parallel lives

But is it better to be parallel or

Color in these lines

Wishing to reach your mind

I see colors all the time

Red is a favorite of mine

But blood wouldn’t do you justice”
