Paper Boats

And Hope

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

My hope floats

Down trickling streams

On paper boats

With paper dreams

Information

Consisting of

Wishful notions

And undying love

Written words

The dampness smeared

The silence heard

And loneliness feared

In pieces now

A tattered mess

Forsaken vows

And brokeness

Bit by bit

They float away

With hopes they’ll be

Renewed one day

Riding the ripples

Away from me

Wistfully simple

Wished into being

To find me waiting

For its return

My heart is beating

My spirit burns

For the love

Those boats whisked away

For the return of

The love we made

On paper boats

Holding our dreams

Staying the course

That dreaming brings
