We each owe
In life it’s pay as you go
Knowledge requires a price
Yet some don’t want to pay
Gathering wisdom on the way
Thinking as long as you take it’s free
Taking has a price it’s consequences
A high fee for life’s lessons you learn
Without shelter in darkness and alone
The price was to high and you lost home
Society is a mirror for all that we see
The weight carried by all of humanity
Substance a medium by which to escape
The slings and arrows ill’s of this world
In the darkness there is nowhere to hide
Emptiness that consumes deep inside
Crash and burn the price so you learn
Doubt is the monster that’s buried within
Faith the sword to slay time and again
We must be the beacon we are the light
Can’t lose the reason for which we fight
There is a price that we each must pay
Bringing truth of knowledge into the fray
Every mentor and teacher along the way
Has sown a seed even if we didn’t know
Our world still has far for us to go
Let us not forget that there is something which we each owe
There are seeds we each must sow
