embalmed in the remnant of our soot

hearts tangled at the root

shadows in the shade of blue

if only you had a clue

but time was unfavorable, then came my cue

half-ass effort was all we knew

tell me,

do broken hearts split in two?

or does our heart only ache what we cannot remove

i don't speak from a feeling of lust

but one that was built on trust

under the same stars we once counted

the moon still

always watching

to think you could leave so easy

to know i could be so empty

memories left to drown

take a bow

you win the crown

the final act

was all just to enact

the injustice i made you feel

when you were ready to kneel

heartbreak
