Closets are meant for coat hangers and a fancy dress,
Not for children afraid of parents who never address
The rainbow aura bursting from beneath the depths
Of their mind, where they only hold heart eyes
For partners just like them.
Flags are meant to be raised out of pride,
So why do some feel like they need to hide
Their colorful banners of unity and love
That don’t seem to fit the black and white mold
Of our land of the free.
While homeless gay youth are overlooked, begging
To see a rainbow after this constant storm, hoping
For acceptance in the form of a wedding ceremony.
Each sexuality upon the many colored flags,
Is a soldier fighting out of love.
