Our Day into the Sunset

It’s here, our day; the one we’ve awaited;

It will bring together our hearts as one.

This final show, much anticipated,

Will bind both our lives to not come undone.

I was not his first love; nor was he mine.

What we were feeling could not be denied.

We worked and we worked our lives to entwine

Now today I stand here; I am his bride.

He takes my hands, looks deep into my eyes,

And vows to keep me forever as his.

Somewhere within me, my response voice dies,

And then as suddenly again it lives.

We’ve made our pledge and together we stand,

We will walk in our sunset, hand in hand.
