This is my twenty-eighth dark poem in the series inspired by Dharrsheena, though possible a little less gruesome but the fear is there

The music I have chosen is Warren Zevon's "Prison Grove" from "The Wind" which definitely goes with this villanelle.

This Is Where You Will Be Forgotten

A Grill Of Metal So Far Above

Your Body Will Fail And Turn Rotten

Did You Do Something So Forbidden

That They Threw You Into This Black Hole

This Is Where You Will Be Forgotten

The Stone Is Damp,Very Mold Ridden

Your Bones Are Filled With Such Biting Cold

Your Body Will Fail And Turn Rotten

You Are A Fading Shadow, Fallen

Unremembered, You’re Disdained By All

This Is Where You Will Be Forgotten

Death Is Upon You, Your Bones Broken

Life Is Fading, Yes They Took Your Soul

Your Body Will Fail And Turn Rotten

There’s No Hope Here, You’re Misbegotten

You Will Rot On This Freezing Stone Floor

This Is Where You Will Be Forgotten

Your Body Will Fail And Turn Rotten

Reminds me of being buried in a graveyard. Though in the south family members put flowers on relatives graves regularly, so you are not totally forgotten

  • Oooo, so much darkness in this one! I loved it!
