Only for Sunny Days

For a time, I had almost nothing.

No glory, no achievements, and no future to boast about. Even smiling required forced pretense. That’s when I realized that liveliness has conditions.

When you are successful, you are never short of people, but when you fall into despair, the world becomes so quiet that only your own heartbeat remains. Some people haven't gone far—they just never intended to walk the dark road with you. Some relationships haven't changed; they were simply meant only for sunny days.

What you’ll remember for a lifetime isn’t who cheered for you when you succeeded, but the person who stayed, without saying much, when you were at your most vulnerable and helpless. They might not be able to help you recover, but they won’t kick you while you're down. They might not know how to comfort you, but they are willing to sit with you in the silence.

This kind of companionship, without fanfare or declarations, is more real than any sweet words. Because those who are willing to approach you at your lowest point aren't drawn to your abilities, your future, or your value; they simply accept you as you are—the "you" who has nothing, yet still strives to live.

If such a person has ever appeared in your life, please cherish them. Not everyone is willing to approach you when you have nothing.
