One More Day With Nana
Why Nana?, why didn’t you fight to stay

One More Day With Nana
At twenty-five, he stood a man, or so the world believed,
But deep inside, he was her boy, with all his heart bereaved,
For Nana was his safest place, his comfort and his home,
And when she died, his whole wide world was suddenly alone.
She loved him with a devoted heart, a love that never swayed,
And he was wrapped within her arms through every choice he made,
A grandson and his Nana, bound by something strong and true,
A love that time could never steal, no matter what they knew.
Then came the day she went away, and something broke inside,
The man he was kept standing, but the little boy just cried,
The world went on around him, but his heart could not move on,
For everything he loved so much had vanished with the dawn.
He’d give up all the years ahead, the future he could see,
For just one more day with Nana, the way it used to be,
One day to hear her gentle voice, one day to hold her tight,
One day to be her grandson again, before she said goodnight.
And though he walks as a grown man now, with life still moving on,
A piece of him went with her when his precious Nana’s gone,
For some loves are not forgotten, no matter where we roam,
And Nana lives inside his heart… the place that’s now her home.
