One Last Time

An appreciation poem

There's nothing I want more than to have

One last look at his face before I take my leave.

To stare at

Its beauty,

In peace,

With no thoughts in mind.

His god's-favorite's façade.

No one's carved like him,

As enchanting.

Eyes darker than the dead of night,

I couldn't find my way out.

Yet how bright those eyes shine

Like the moonlight in the dark sky,

Guided me through the night.

So mesmerizing, I stumble to find words

Even when I catch a glimpse of him.

If I fail to say my goodbyes to him,

Leave me be

To have one last glance

At him,

One last time before I leave.
