One Day

2006

By Lisa CraddockPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

One day, I’ll stop looking for your messages,

Eventually, I’ll realize they aren’t going to come,

Perhaps one day when you are reminiscing about the fools who have loved you,

You’ll remember my smile,

And the light in my eyes that said yours,

And you’ll wonder if you wasted something good,

For about a sec,

Then you’ll remember that you are the something good,

And the waste would have been to stay,

My hope is,

That you will believe me when I say,

This pity party is not for me,

It’s for you because you don’t realize,

Or even worse,

You don’t care,

That you are throwing away something good,

That look in my eyes,

It’s for real,

I am yours, or at least I was,

Until you realized you had other plans,

Other hearts to touch,

And eyes to look into,
