On this Thanksgiving, thanks to All

To the ones who are here and the ones who are gone.

Thanks for the air we breathe

And for the air we exhale

Thanks for the dreams

And thanks for the hope.

Thanks for the food

Thanks for the pets

Thanks for the love

Thanks for the causes

Thanks for the prose.

Thanks for the ceiling

above our heads

And a roof that won't leak

Thanks for the blankets

Thanks for repose.

Thanks for the hot tea

With cinnamon

Thanks for family

Friends and the loved.

Thanks for the sightings

We witnessed on-shore

And the tales at night

which were kindly told.

Thanks for the eyes

That allows us to see

The beauty of this world.

Thanks to you

For being you

Thanks for remaining

Even if you're gone

(You’re part of my soul).

Thanks for reading

Thanks for the immense joy

For these are humble times and

These are humble words.

About the Creator

Rene Volpi

I'm from Italy and write every day. Being a storyteller by nature, I've entertained (and annoyed) people with my "expositions" since I was a child, showing everyone my primitive drawings, doodles, and poems. Still do! Leave me a comment :)
