On Reconsidering a Past Poem

Published in 1994

Inspired by a person

I didn't honestly know.

Winsome

Inspirited,

only to meander around

hoping to get a glimpse of the

felicity

*

Such a "Diamond in the Rough"

for to only attain

"La Dolce Vita"

once in a lifetime

*

But in the end, to be left

with this strange, strange

insatiable

feeling. . .

To rethink this poem with the person that I now know in my life.

Always inspirited,

never to meander

only to know the felicity

*

So much more than a mere "Diamond"

to have now attained

"La Dolce Vita" in this lifetime

*

And in the end,

left thoroughly

quenched forever . . .
