on grieving someone still alive
day by day
By Daniel KPublished 2 months ago • Updated 2 months ago • 1 min read

I still go to bed with so much to tell you.
Last night,
I dreamt of you twice.
One day,
that will stop.
I’ll learn to accept
nostalgia tastes like French Vanilla coffee,
home smells like lavender, orange, and star anise,
and I’ll never see you wear an anklet.
It’s not about that.
It’s knowing tomorrow
won’t have your voice in it.
About the Creator
Daniel K
I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.
