a cosmic view

Giant dolls and crows at Olinda's slopes.

Dear visitor from the realms of starry gleam,

To a land of rhythm, and sunlit beam,

Let me introduce to you a sight so divine,

Olinda’s Carnival, where the stars align.

#

In Olinda’s slopes, where colors abound,

To the rhythmic beats, feet are bound,

A dance of passion, a song so sweet,

Where hearts of the world and locals meet.

#

The dance of Frevo, filled with zest,

Carries the fervor of the crowd's crest,

Umbrellas twirl in synchronized spree,

To the tunes of joy and vibrant glee.

#

Behold the giant dolls, heads so high,

Under the brilliant, Brazilian sky,

Their large facades, their eyes so wide,

Dance among the humans in colorful tide.

#

Oh, celestial traveler, see the waves,

Of infinite crowd that dances and raves,

From every corner of this Earth they pour,

To be part of this lore, this folkloric roar.

#

They come to witness, to be a part,

Of a celebration that’s a work of art,

With painted faces, and costumes bright,

They dance in the day and into the night.

#

Through the serpentine, charming streets,

The rhythm of the Carnival beats,

On Olinda's slopes, so steep, so grand,

A myriad of people dance hand in hand.

#

In this vibrant confluence of joy and cheer,

Humans find escape from every fear,

They lose themselves in the rhythmic trance,

In the Carnival, they find their dance.

#

For here is a place where spirits soar,

Where the music is a lion's roar,

A symphony of laughter, love, and light,

Under the tropical, sultry night.

#

Foreigners, locals, all in one accord,

Dance to the melodies, universally adored,

It’s a human spectacle, a cosmic treat,

Where the heartbeat of the world you meet.

#

So, why do humans cherish this so?

It’s the joy, the freedom, the radiant glow,

A time to forget, to live, to be,

In the Carnival, the soul is free.

#

Through the cacophony, the rhythmic blend,

New friendships form, old ones mend,

It’s a realm of unity, of shared bliss,

A moment in time one shouldn’t miss.

#

It’s a testament to Earth’s vibrant mirth,

A glimpse into its cultural girth,

In Olinda’s Carnival, one sees the ray,

Of Earth’s colorful, musical array.

#

So, dear alien, may you find in this place,

The essence of the human race,

The joy, the dance, the rhythmic revel,

In Olinda’s slopes, where spirits level.

#

Take this memory back to your starry home,

Through the interstellar dome,

And remember the land where colors swirl,

In the dance of life, in the Carnival twirl.
