New love

It was, as if, a wind had pushed me, guided me.

But no wind stirred, no breeze guided.

I was drawn.

Unknowing,

my steps were my own, without thought, but still coerced somehow.

I waded through the river of people with their own destinations. Were they also somehow drawn, without knowing?

My mind was elsewhere as I found a seat, enjoying the summer evening without concern.

It was just a glance, casually thrown my way, that held me. She also seemed to pause in her glance, quickly looking away.

A thread stretched between us, drawing us together. A thread of lifetimes, forever connecting us. Again and again our souls finding each other.

I sat and felt my destiny unfold, she looked again and our eyes locked.

The thread tightening, suddenly nothing else mattered. She seemed to also feel the pull, a confident smile came to her lips, gesturing to the empty chair next to her.

I found it easy to join her, our conversation continuing into the night. So easily our souls again came together. Blending together again, yet fresh in circumstances.

Holding hands we left, changed and excited. Somehow knowing that our future together was cast. Our new love layered over the old.
