Okay Fine, I'll Keep Going to Counseling!

Eat your veggies and practice self-care.

Going in with an agenda or topic right off the bat,

and that's that.

The hard breaks and painful news,

continues.

Keep seeing the counselor, it's worth it,

mental gears shift and teeth grit.

Oh, God, please help me though it all,

hardly able to move, or even crawl.

Depression seeps in and paralyzes,

problems grow into various sizes.

What kind of diversions can I concoct tonight?

My poor cheek, I continue to bite.

Year by year, I wonder if I'm growing any wiser,

my wild emotions are like an invisible geyser;

Bursting up, up, up into the vast night air,

trying to practice that thing called "self-care."
