Oh, The Nonsense

There is a crack in the corner of my bedroom - sometimes I get lost in the thought of what could be

Lurking there on the other side of nowhere - from my pillow to somewhere in between

I imagine someone like me, lying- watching. This crack evolve from their own point of view

Wondering what it is that I might be thinking. And if I am wondering about what’s up with that crack too

Could it be the portal to my alter ego? Is she watching, waiting for me to call her out

For her to come and relieve me of my duties, and take over where I left off, for awhile

Or should I wander to the garage for some spackle, grab a trowel and towel and patch it up tonight

Or just lay here staring up at the damn ceiling, giving me ideas for a poem I can write

surreal poetry
