Oh, God, Tell Thee

Will war ever be broken?

Will war ever be broken?

I ponder down by the lake,

The clear waters swirl with

delight and everlasting light.

~

They will come soon,

The rhythmic march of the heroes.

The innocence of the young.

God, if thee listens, help the innocent

before blood drenches their souls.

~

They will walk on through the shrubs

The trees and the foreboding death

To come.

They march in lines that never

Seem to cease.

~

Oh, how can the delight of a lake

be shattered with a bomb.

And an everlasting light shall

never shadow them again.

~

They’ll die and will not rise

from the sky.

Plagued they are with melancholy times.

Oh, God help thee with the salvation of the heroes

And innocent.

~

Their blood will forever stain

the hearts of poor widows and families,

who grieve the heroes plunged in battle

for the pride of their country.

~

Oh, God, as the saviour help thee,

To not be shot down by bloodied hands

that will drip with revenge and vengeance.

~

Will war ever be broken?

I ponder down by the lake.

Oh, God, tell thee.
